帰国準備
台風一過、晴天。暑い。
拝田和夫氏の急逝を悼む。
拝田氏は「子どもの家」のチュン君の里親であり、
我が長男の義父でもある。昨年１２月から闘病生活を
続けていたが、今朝逝去。６２歳。
長男の結婚で親戚となった拝田氏である。温厚な方だった。
私が北海道で講演会があると良く小樽の拝田氏のお宅へ
お邪魔する。拝田氏は必ず私の好きな「大和屋」という
割烹料理店で北海道のおいしいお刺身（特にしめ鯖や光り物）
をご馳走してくれる。こんなに早く亡くなられるとは思っても
いなかった。改めて拝田氏の急逝を惜しみ、心から哀悼の
気持ちを表したい。
拝田氏の急逝は「いつかわが身」という気持ちを強く私に
抱かせた。人生は短い。生きている間に何か世間に役立つ
ことをしたいとの気持ちを新たにさせてくれた。
拝田氏は病床で「子どもの家」の里子チュン君にリコモン車
を買いプレゼントした。９月４日に長男が「子どもの家」を
訪問し、チュン君に「日本の里親は今、病気と闘って頑張って
いるよ」と話し、リモコン車をプレゼント。
今日、里子のチュン君に「日本のお父さんが亡くなったよ」と
話す。チュン君は大事にしまってあった拝田氏から
贈られたリモコン車を取り出し、「拝田のお父さんからもらった
リモコン車をお父さんだと思って大事にするよ」と言って写真に
写っていた。拝田氏は亡くなったが、その意志と支援した
子どもは遠く離れたベトナムでしっかりと生き成長していく
ことであろう。一人の人間の存在は、目に見えないところで
その意義を発揮するものである。チュン君の健やかな成長を
祈らずにはいられない。
午前中、刺繍みやげ物店の諸問題についてミンさんなどと
２時間ほど懇談。
午後、帰国のための部屋の整理。
床屋へ。（１５０円）。衣類の中へ散髪した髪が入ってしまい
体中がかゆくなる。
夕方、ミンさんと「子どもの家」へ。セン委員長と懇談。
明日午後１１時４５分のホーチミン発のVN便で２１日朝成田へ。
その足で成田から新千歳→小樽へ。拝田氏の告別式に
間に合えばよいのだが。
