ベトナム帰国準備②
終日 晴天。梅雨明け。
午前中、荷物整理。
パソコンは大きな箱から出し、本体と付属品に分ける。
納豆製造機とパソコン関係はリュックに入れる。
その他、ベトナムへもって行くよう頼まれた文房具、
医薬品、本などはプラスティックバッグに入れて整理し
小型スーツケースに詰める。日本料理関係の包丁、
皮むき器、日本料理の本などをきちんと詰め込む。
何とか最低限、フエへ持っていくものを詰め終える。
結局、私的なものは詰め込めなかった。
午後、池袋へ。円をドルに替える。
午後３時過ぎ、帰宅。
「友がみな我よりえらく見える日は」（上原隆：幻冬舎）読了。
２章から最終章まで。面白いという言葉では表せないが
読む価値のある本。ドキュメンタリーなのかルポなのかは
分からないが、小説のようではあるが、実際に上原氏が
インタビューし、自分の目で見た「今の日本人」の実態
である。しかもテレビや新聞に出ない「一般庶民」。
人生の「勝ち組・負け組」があるとしたら明らかに
「負け組」の普通の人々の思い・人生が私見を交えずに
語られている。
第１章の「友」は昨日書いた。
第２章「容貌｣に続き、ホームレスのルポ、登校拒否の
若者へのインタビュー、テレクラ、元芥川賞作家、父子家庭、
別れた男たち、うつ病、離婚、リストラ。
読後感。どの章も人事ではない。身につまされる。
自分も自分の回りの誰さんでも明日こんな生活になりそうな
階層２極分化社会。今日の「自己責任」社会である。
東峰夫は「オキナワの少年」で１９７２年１月、李恢成の
「砧を打つ女」とともに第６６回芥川賞を受けた。３３歳。
多くの出版社がオキナワを書くよう依頼するが、
東は人間の精神世界を究明したいとの気持ちで
出版社の申しでを全て拒否。その後、ガードマンなどの
仕事しながら生計を立てる。こんな人生もあるのだ。
自分を最後まど通す人生の結末は厳しいものがある。
何人かの方から電話。フエへ無事帰るようにとの
励ましの電話。
