水戸市へ。「法教育」の懇談会出席
午前中「歯科医」へ。現在歯の総合点検中。今日で３回目。歯周病にならないため。麻酔をかけ歯のチェック。ベトナムで更に１０年活動するためには、歯の健康を保つ事は大事なことである。日本にいる間に心臓、歯などの健康をチェックしたい。私は努力してできることは努力し、後は「運を天」に任せる主義である。健康維持の努力をしないのは、命を大事にしないことに通ずる。
雑誌「世界」３月号（岩波書店）を読む。
①～⑤まで読み応えのある内容。
①辺見庸「抵抗はなぜ壮大なる反動につりあわないのか
・同感の部分あり。これほど大きな反動化の中でなぜ大きな国民運動が起こらないのか？辺見氏の絶望的な気持ちが読み取れる。
②高村薫「あれかこれかではなく第３の道を」
・作家として文章を書くことを通してで今の日本の変質・反動化と対峙すると。
③鷲頭幹夫「小泉首相をなぜ提訴するのか蓑輪登元郵政相の決断」
・自民党防衛族のドンである蓑輪氏のある意味で命を賭けた小泉首相への挑戦状。
④犬養道子「話せばわかる・言論不自由」
・犬養氏の文章は歯に絹着せぬ小泉路線への痛烈な批判。５・１５事件で射殺された政友会総裁犬養首相の孫として、小泉首相の問答無用の姿勢を批判。
⑤北沢洋子「世界は地の底から揺れている」
・２００４年１月１６日から２１日までインドのムンバイで行われた「反グローバリゼーション」の集会には世界中から１０万人もの人が集まったそうだ。この短文は一読に値する。特に「大企業主導のグローバリゼーション」の歴史とそれに反対する運動の歴史を学べる。北沢氏は最後に「私は70年代以降、日本の市民社会が自ら考え、論議し、行動することを止めた」ことが日本の反動化を阻止する大きな運動が起こらない原因と分析。「論議をおこすこと」が今、一番必要と訴えている。辺見氏の絶望的な現状認識と対象的だ。
夕方、水戸市へ。長年の「子どもの家」の支援者である後藤弁護士（日弁連法教育委員会副委員長）の呼びかけで、茨城の高校の先生、２人の司法修習生と懇談。「アンコウ鍋」をご馳走になる。水戸は寒い。午後９時頃には雪がちらついて来た。上野駅に午後１０時頃着いたが、朝のラッシュ並みの混雑に驚く。フエでは午後１０時になれば人通りは極少なくなる。帰宅は午後１１時。
