朝５時起床。６時過ぎ家を出て京成スカイラーナーで成田へ。空港カウンター、出入管でも待たずに午前１０時成田発。午後４時半(日本時間）ホーチミン市着。お客は定員の３分の１程度。

成田→ホーチミン間のベトナム航空機内は、閑散としていた。私は、３つの座席に寝ていた。
ホーチミン市内は３２度の猛暑。やっと私の好きな気候にめぐり合える。とにかく日本は寒い。こうして黙っていても汗をかくような気候が一番好きだ。何とはなしに落ち着く。
ホーチミン空港の外に出たのは午後３時半(日本時間午後５時半）。これからフエまで飛行機を乗り継いで行く。フエ行きは午後６時４０分。まだ３時間程時間がある。さっそく、国内線に行きチェックイン。２月１７日にハノイで同じように３時間ほど早くチャックインをしようとしたら、手で追っ払らわれた。
同じ国であってもハノイとホーチミンとではこんなことまで違う。とにかくハノイは「威張って」いる。ホーチミン市は「お金儲け」なら、何でも頭を下げる式のところがある。よく言えば、ホーチミン市はサービス精神があり、ハノイはお役人根性丸出し、サービス精神のないところである。
ホーチミン空港（タンソンチャット空港)から市内へタクシーで移動。４５０００ドン(４５０年程度）。
早速、行きつけのインタネットカフェでこの日記を書いている次第である。
１２年前の１９９２年８月に初めてホーチミン市に来た時に泊まった「キャラベルホテル」が改装新築されていた。
午後５時過ぎホーチミン空港へ戻る。
午後６時４０分発のフエ行きの飛行機だが６時３０
分頃出発。午後８時過ぎにフエ空港の上空まで達するが、雨雲で視界不良とのことで、数回着陸を試みるも失敗。急降下を重ねる。結局、フエ空港着陸を断念し、ダナン空港へ着陸。しばらく、ダナン空港でフエ空港の上空の雨雲の様子を見るが、それも断念。最終的にダナンからバスでハイバン峠を超えてフエへ行くことになった。午後９時過ぎダナンを出た。フエ着午後１１時半。日本時間の午前１時半。
今日は朝６時に家を出て、フエに着いたのが午前１時半と言うことになる。１９時間の旅だった。フエは小雨が降っている。
トンチンカンホテルの部屋に入るが、「カビ」臭い。眠いのと疲れたので頭がボーッとしている。
急いで日記の続きを書く。
