静岡市での活動を終わり東京へ・福田副代表「フエ市名誉市民」となる
午前8時40分、ホテルをチェックアウト。
午前9時10分静岡駅発の新幹線で東京へ。
静岡駅には静岡市の局長、課長、など多くの方々の見送りが
あった。静岡市役所の方々、ＪＡＳＳ静岡の会の皆さんなど
お世話になった多くの方々に感謝。
午前10時過ぎ、東京駅に到着。東京駅には山西さん、
西山優子さんが出迎えに来ていた。私は体調が悪く
帰宅。家で４日間のメールを整理。１０通ほどの返信。
午後７時から上野でフエ市長などを歓迎するＪＡＳＳ主催の
歓迎夕食会。同時に福田もえ子副代表のフエ市名誉市民賞
贈呈式があった。

午後９時半に懇談夕食会は終了。自宅着午後１１時。

4月11日から４日間の静岡滞在は大きな成果があった。
静岡市・フエ市友好都市提携調印式。
ＪＡＳＳの「仲人」で両市が友好提携するようになった。
私たちのような小さなＮＧＯではあるが、それでも
現地で１２年間活動することで、日越の行政を動かし
日越友好交流を行政ペースでも行うようになるきっかけを
作った。
8年前にＪＡＳＳ静岡の会の子どもたちがフエの
「子どもの家」を訪問。その際、子どもたちが静岡市長の
メッセージを持ってフエ市長を訪問。
こうして、静岡市長とフエ市長との交流がはじまった。
その後、静岡市国際交流協会のスタディーツアー、
ＪＡＳＳ静岡の会のスタディーツアー、静岡大学学生の
「子どもの家」訪問など様々な民間での交流が積み重ね
られた。
2000年には静岡市長の小嶋氏、ライオンズクラブなど
の団体の拠出で「静岡・フエ青年交流会館」が建設された。

２００３年には静岡・フエ青年交流会館内に日本語学校が
設立され、現在200人のベトナム青年が日本語を学んでいる。
ＪＡＳＳ静岡の会やＪＡＳＳベトナム事務所などが中心となり
静岡の政財界も巻き込んでの日越の友好交流を進めてきた。
こうした長年の地道な取り組みを基礎にして今回の
静岡市・フエ市友好都市提携となったのである。
読売新聞、静岡新聞、産経新聞、中日新聞などでも報道された。

4月12日の夜は、静岡市主催の「友好都市提携を祝う会」が行われ、
80人近くの関係者が参加した。
